Wilder-Naifeh Technical Skills
Grant Information

 
  .....The Wilder-Naifeh Technical Skills Grant will allow any Tennessee resident at least 18 years or older or has a high school diploma/GED to apply and attend the Tennessee Technology Centers and take advantage of our quality 40+ program offerings in preparation for a new career or workplace enhancement

  • Any Tennessee resident at least 18 years or older or has a high school diploma/GED is eligible to apply for the Wilder-Naifeh Technical Skills Grant.

  • No minimum high school grade point average is required; NO ACT test required for admission (Note: Student must meet program admission requirements.)

  • Up to $1,250* per year is available for Wilder-Naifeh recipients.

  • Students can enroll as a full-time or part-time TTC student pursuing a diploma or certificate.

  • To maintain the Wilder-Naifeh Grant students must simply maintain satisfactory academic progress (a grade of “C” or better and meet attendance requirements).

Caution!

Any individual who receives the Hope Scholarship is not eligible for the Wilder-Naifeh Technical Skills Grant. Hope Scholarship recipients who enroll in a community college or four year institution and drop out before completing their program cannot receive the Wilder-Naifeh Grant.

Costs at a Technology Center are significantly less than those at a four year institution or a community college. The grant may pay for up to $1,250* annually which includes Fall, Winter, and Spring terms. Current tuition fee for these three terms is $ 1,161**

Next steps:
  1. Contact the Tennessee Technology Center for a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

  2. Complete the FAFSA application and have it processed by May 1, 2004.

  3. Applications processed after May 1 will be accepted but preference will be given to those processed on or before May 1. Earlier is better! Don’t delay in submitting your form.
