Wilder-Naifeh Technical Grant Information
- Any
Tennessee citizen
18 years or older is eligible for the Wilder-Naifeh Grant.
- No
minimum grade point average is required; NO ACT test required for admission.
No high school diploma or
GED is required.
- Up
to $1,250* per year is available for Wilder-Naifeh recipients. This is paid
over 3 terms. Truck Driving students will receive
a prorated award based on hours scheduled to attend.
- Students
can enroll as a full or part-time TTC student
pursuing a diploma or certificate. Supplemental certificates are not included.
Part-time students awards
are prorated based on the hours scheduled to attend each term.
- All individuals interested in applying for Wilder-Naifeh
Grant need to submit a FAFSA (Free Application For Federal Financial Aid) application as soon as possible.
Applications received after May 1, 2004
will be accepted but preference will be given to those received on or before
May 1. Earlier is better! Don’t delay in submitting your form.

- Students
may only be paid for a maximum of 150% of their particular program length.
Students may NOT receive Wilder-Naifeh funds after they receive the highest
award in one program of study. Students may transfer to another TTC and maintain
eligibility as long as they have continuous enrollment from one TTC to another
AND have not received the highest award in the program of study.
- To
maintain the Wilder-Naifeh Grant students must simply maintain satisfactory academic progress ( a grade of “C” or better) and meet attendance requirements.
THERE IS NO APPEAL OF SATISFACTORY PROGRESS FOR WILDER-NAIFEH FUNDS.
Students may ask for a leave of absence in rare and unusual circumstances.
- Caution!
Any individual who receives the Hope Scholarship is not eligible for the Wilder-Naifeh.
Hope Scholarship recipients who enroll in a community college or four year
institution and drop out before completing their program cannot
receive the Wilder-Naifeh Grant.
* Award amounts will be based on lottery funds.
