GED Testing Center

The General Educational Development (GED) provides an opportunity for adults who did not finish high school to receive a high school equivalency diploma. There are several reasons an individual may want to take the GED test. These reasons range from satisfying a personal goal, to encouraging family and friends, and to furthering an individual’s education.  The Tennessee Technology Center at Crump has operated a GED center since 1988.

Individuals are required to take an Official Practice Test (OPT) before taking the GED exam.  The OPT test scores are valid one year.  Contact your local Adult Education office for details.

The GED test consists of a battery of five exams: Writing Skills, Social Studies, Science, Reading, and Math. Tests are given during the week. On Wednedays,  Writing Skills and Math sections are given and on Thursdays the remaining sections of  Social Studies, Science and Reading sections are given.  Test dates are listed on the back of the "downloadable" application.

The GED testing fee is $55.00 for new testers and $11.00 per section repeated for re-testers. To reserve a GED testing slot please send in your prepayment to the above address. We DO NOT accept checks but cash, money order or credit/debit card are acceptable methods of payment.

Each applicant must have a state or federal photo identification (like a driver’s license or state photo I.D. and one other proof of identification).

** If you are 17 years of age:  You are required to obtained Eligiblity for Enrollment in Adult Education form.  You must contact the Board of Education in the county in which you reside. **
