Computerized Graphics Design
The Computerized Graphics Design Program combines art with technology to communicate ideas and information in various businesses, industry and the internet. The program introduces the student to the concepts of sketching, basic 2D drawing, typography, page layout, and web page design. Students will be exposed to both theory and job simulated projects which utilize the skills necessary to provide the learner with realistic hands-on learning experience. The program is designed to be completed in 15 months.
By use of various software programs students will learn how to design and produce anything which is printed in hard copy or virtual copy These may include newsletters, posters, advertisements, company logos, illustrations and web pages. These projects will help prepare the student for entry-level employment in the diverse field of graphics design or continue education in computer animation.
First Level
Graphics Arts Technician Certificate

Orientation and Portfolio File Management - Students will be given an introduction to CDG and managing large files. They will learn the process of creating folders, saving files, proper file management and burning cds.
Computer Concepts - Brief overview of computer architecture, software & file management, and the internet & e-commerce.
Illustration Drawing - Students will be introduced to 2D and 3D drawing techniques. Color, balance, texture, and drawing composition, along with shading and rendering techniques will be studied.
CAD Software - Students will gain knowledge in basic concepts, terminology, and techniques necessary for CAD applications. Learn to setup a drawing, construct geometry, add text to a drawing, and plot a drawing.

Computer Graphics Layout Technician Certificate

Digital Photo
Adobe PhotoShop - Learn the digital image fundamentals of PhotoShop. Course covers commands, codes, menus, tools, palettes, scanner operation, digital cameras, terminology, output, filters, masks, layers, composition, image file formats-JPEG, PICT, and TIFF. Learn advanced PhotoShop techniques; includes collage techniques, photo retouching, color correction, layer manipulation and layer masks.
Adobe InDesign - Students are introduced to the industry leading page-layout software with creatvie design tools, innovative effects and high-quality output for print and digital publishing.
CorelDraw - Learn to use the vector-illustration application that combines page layout, photo editing, and web graphics to create signs, logos, banners and more.
Third Level
Computer Graphics Illustrator Certificate
528 hours (Pre-Requisite Level I and II)
Graphics Design
Adobe Illustrator - Learn Illustrator's fundamentals andessential properties;includes commands, menus, tools, drawing and illustration techniques. Students will learn step-by-step procedures for design and layout projects covering the design elements, principles, and application of design techniques. Also, covers web design features, print style, paper, color, grids, templates, organizational and critiquing skills, budget, time, and output devices.
Technical Illustration - Students will translate thoughts and ideas into graphic form by use of pictorial drawing and rendering techniques to create illustrations, exploded assembly drawings, and architectural renderings.
Web Page Design
Dreamweaver - Web Page Creation including text formatting, color coordination, graphics, backgrounds, animation graphics, hyperlinks, tables, and forms as well as other web page techniques.
Flash - Software application used to create typography, video and animation for web page design.
Computerized Presentations
Microsoft PowerPoint - Students learn to create an effective visual presentation to enhance the delivery of information; to include the creation of slides, animation, sound effects, graphic effects, speaker's notes, presentation outlines, and audience handouts.
Introduction to 3D Modeling and Animation
Students will learn step-by-step procedures for presenting designs through visual images, modeling, and basic animation. Learn how to apply color, texture, and lighting elements to your design.
Externships - Students will apply their knowledge on real projects OR
CGD Project & Presentation - Students who are unable to complete the Externship will do a major final project and present this to an audience of the Instructor's choosing.
Computerized Graphics Design
Diploma - 1,620 hours
Once a student has completed all 3 levels, they are awarded the Computerized Graphics Design Diploma
